Groupe Jambo SPRL was established in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 2002.  Our flagship store, Jambo Mart, is a sprawling six-floor hypermarket providing the residents of Katanga global products and goods at affordable prices, all under one roof. We now have a second store in Kenya Market, with new locations planned in Kolwezi, Likasi, and the Golf area of Lubumbashi in the next 2 years.

With its high standards of quality and service, Jambo Mart has become a name synonymous with excellence in Katanga. True to its mission of absolute customer satisfaction, Jambo Mart is a purveyor of the freshest fruit and vegetables and quality meats. Our variety of wholesome breads, cakes and croissants are baked in store every day, while our readymade hot meals are a great relief to our busy customers who are always on the go. In addition to our grocery offering, Jambo Mart's wide range of clothing, furniture, cosmetics and household goods have made one-stop shopping a reality for the residents of Katanga.

We are dedicated to sourcing goods from the international market to provide an unparalleled choice of products to the residents of Lubumbashi and its surrounding areas.

Today Groupe Jambo is a successful group with a strong presence in wholesale, logistics, construction, distribution and agriculture, in addition to retail.
Groupe Jambo is committed to giving consumers across the DRC more choices at better prices. Our hypermarkets fulfill every domestic need under one roof, and we are constantly working to expand our product range and offer better value to ensure customer satisfaction.

Alongside our retail operation, Groupe Jambo is active in the logistics, construction, and wholesale markets in the Katanga Province. We aspire to be a catalyst for change in the region, implementing unique solutions and industry best practices to create lasting benefits for the DRC.
All assets and operations of Groupe Jambo are located in the Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The DRC is a vast country with immense economic resources, including an estimated 10% of the world's copper and 50% of its cobalt.

While the country has had a turbulent history since achieving independence from Belgium in 1960, confidence in the DRC is growing among international agencies, non-government organizations as well as international private-sector companies. According to the African Development Bank, DRC's economy grew 7.2% in 2012, up from 6.9% in 2011, driven by the robust performances of the mining, trade, agriculture and construction sectors in particular. Economic growth is expected to rise further to 8.2% in 2013.

The majority of the country's mineral riches lie in the southeastern Katanga Province, historically known as the "jewel in the Congo's crown." The heart of the country's copper-belt is Lubumbashi, the DRC's second largest city and capital of Katanga. Rich natural resources and thriving mining activities have made Lubumbashi a financial hub for the country as a whole, and as such the city has undergone an enormous demographic and economic transformation over the decade.

Lubumbashi is poised for further economic growth, due not only to the natural resources that underpin its finances but also the diversified economic growth brought from the IT, transport and retail sectors, as well as by returning diaspora. By 2020, the city's population will double to more than five million, according to the United Nations.
